Payroll Analyst:

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the importing and collecting of employee time data via automated timekeeping system.
  • Reviews, audits and reconciles time data to ensure complete and accurate information.
  • Perform appropriate employee system tax balancing and updates timely and accurately; stock options, relocation, travel declarations, etc.
  • Process and ensure timeliness and accuracy of third party payments (i.e. garnishment, wage assignments, MUW, etc).
  • Support month end, quarter end, yearend system report balancing and tax processing as requested.
  • Assist with timely W-2 balancing, filing and distribution for all employees.
  • Research and analysis pay issues (system/technical, taxes or other deductions, etc.).
  • Document procedures, implement and execute, consistently re-evaluate the efficiency and completeness of the documented processes.
  • Ensure processes adhere to all regulatory and compliance payroll rules. 
  • Provide support to projects that impact payroll processing (requirements gathering, use case development, system testing, and other duties as defined by the SDLC).
  • Create ad-hoc reports to meet the needs of facilities, corporate departments, management and regulatory agencies as requested.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to management for opportunities to streamline and automate existing processes.  Contributes technically and analytically to the achievement of these solutions.
  • Build and maintain professional, positive, and proactive communications/relationships with the facilities.
  • Gain understanding of facility business needs/requirements to develop controls and guidelines for facilities to ensure adherence for payroll processes (i.e. manual checks/off-cycles, stop payments, etc).
  • Contribute to the success of the entire payroll team.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Learning Experience

  • Required:  Associates degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Desired:  BS/BA in Business Administration or Accounting.

Work Experience

  • Required:  3+ years experience in automated, multi-state payroll processing. Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Desired:


  • Required:  Ability to multi-task and meet sensitive deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent support to all customers.  Be team oriented and have good organization, analytical, and follow through skills.
  • Desired:   Dayforce, SAP, Project implementation knowledge.
