Job Summary

This role will be responsible for performing a wide variety of communications activities to disseminate research results, educational materials, writing / promotion of blog posts, as well as coordinating social media, video, website content, logistics, planning, and events.

Job Responsibilities

Support Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) Relations Strategies

Support the implementation of strategic internal and external communications plans that may involve traditional and social media, newsletters, video production, webinars and other communications channels,

Coordinate planning, promotion, and execution of webinars and in-person events and schedule meetings with stakeholders

Deploy email marketing strategies to promote research findings, new stakeholder resources, maintain and grow stakeholder databases, etc.

Provide general support to the execution of  strategic plans


Maintain and Develop Content for CIRP Websites

Coordinate blog editorial calendar, help draft/proofread blog posts and interview content experts

Support the development and uploading of policy tools, reports, videos and other materials

Coordinate the system for website content update requests

Create promotional and educational writing for different audiences


Support Growth of CIRP Digital Audience

Coordinate daily use of social media via editorial calendars, researching, and posts

Maintain and track social media advertising campaigns

Maintain systems to report and track effectiveness of digital communications tactics

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of two years experience 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Able to work independently and interact with researchers, community members, and CHOP staff.
Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, Public Relations/Communications or Health Education or related field

Preferred Experience: Two (2) years of communications, public relations, or special events experience

Additional Technical Requirements
  • Intermediate proficiency managing professional social media for promotional, educational and/or business purposes (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Intermediate proficiency with web analytics tools (Google Analytics)
