Position SummaryThe University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center,Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a faculty member to join the Division ofEpidemiology, Biostatistics, and Preventive Medicine. This position is at therank of Assistant or Associate Professor and on the Tenure track. Salary and rank will be commensurate withexperience and education.Company Information:The UNM Health Sciences Center, Division of Epidemiology,Biostatistics and Preventive Medicine (EBPM) is in the Department of InternalMedicine. It consists of 23 Research andTenure Track faculty, and approximately 15 staff scientists, post-doctoralfellows, and students, along with a number of esteemed researchers who holdadjunct volunteer positions. The Preventive Medicine Residence Program is partof the Division, and includes 3 full time faculty, and currently 4residents. The Division has over $5M inresearch funding and maintains close ties to many UNM Health Sciences Centerdepartments, centers, and colleges where individual EBPM faculty are frequentand essential collaborators.Responsibilitiesand Position Qualifications:The successful candidate will develop and maintain his/herown research program with a focus epidemiology, population health, healthdisparities, in chronic or infectious disease, or biostatistics. Biostatisticianswith expertise in research design, epidemiology, biostatistical analyses ofclinical trials, and prospective observational and implementation research areencouraged to apply. This individual will also support teaching inundergraduate medical education, and other graduate level programs in healthand population science. The candidate will also be expected to join and developcollaborations within the UNM HSC with clinicians and researchers to advance publichealth, and clinical and translational research.This position may be subject to a criminal records screeningin accordance with New Mexico law. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: PhD or equivalent degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related field; Must have at least 3-years of experience in Biostatistics research in biomedical setting; and Candidate must be eligible to work in the US.Preferred Qualifications:Interest and experience in Applied Statistics, Biometrics/biostatistics, Mathematical statistics; Evidence of successfully working in a team science framework with health science investigators, as demonstrated by publications and successful grant funding; Experience leading data coordinating and biostatistical activities for multi-site trials, including developing protocols, writing statistical analysis plans, and supervising analysts and junior statisticians; Evidence of experience teaching and/or mentoring in biostatistics; A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
