PeaceHealth is seeking a Occupational Medicine Technician - Workplace Wellness (Per Diem) for a per diem, Day shift position.

Performs employment-related services and assists in the healthcare of workers.  Assures professional, quality care is provided for patients of all ages according to established standards and practices. In collaboration with the healthcare team, assists physicians/providers in the delivery of patient care working within the scope of practice for an Occupational Medicine Technician.  In collaboration with employers and the healthcare team, performs a variety of employment related services in accordance with state and federal regulations.



  1. Assists the Clinician in treatment of work-related injuries, administers medications per clinician orders and evaluates and documents its effectiveness. 
  2. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.  Takes and records patient history and vital signs as applicable.
  3. Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under provider orders.
  4. Provides client education in areas related to safety, first aid, CPR and others.
  5. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  6. Performs Occupational Health and Safety client services in accordance with applicable certifications, (see “LICENSE/CERTIFICATION” below), both in clinic and at employer sites.
  7. Operates/drives mobile medical unit.
  8. Collaborates with a variety of personnel, clients and departments to ensure smooth onsite and offsite clinic operations.
  9. May collect and transport specimens.
  10. May maintain patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record.
  11. May provide client education related to workplace safety, first aid, CPR, and other subjects
  12. May participate in afterhours call.
  13. Performs client services related to Occupational Health and Safety.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.




  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program is required. An approved educational program/course of study that allows caregiver to sit for the MOA certification exam will be considered (e.g. Associate’s degree in Allied Health).



  • Prior experience in Occupational Health preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a medical office required



  • State of Washington Medical Assistant –certified licensure required.
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • NIOSH Spirometry Certification within 6 months of date of hire required.
  • CAOHC Certification within 6 months of date of hire required.
  • DOT drug screen sample collection certification within 6 months of date of hire required.
  • DOT breath alcohol technician certification within 6 months of date of hire required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required at date of hire.



  • Demonstrates a courteous, caring and understanding attitude towards patients, clients, co-workers, visitors, volunteers, peers and medical providers.
  • Must be well organized, flexible and able to function effectively as part of a cohesive team and independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, interruption prone environment.
  • Demonstrates creative problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks utilizing limited resources.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Direct patient care skills to include, but not limited to: assisting with wound cleansing, dressing and suturing; suture removal; splint application/removal; range of motion treatment; heat and cold therapy; medication administration; and respiratory treatment.
  • Must have capacity to perform collection of legal laboratory specimens. 
  • The ability to skillfully drive a 35 foot mobile clinic
