Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

+ Prior Authorized User certification is required.

+ Authorized User: As defined in part by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, an individual who has completed a minimum of 700 hours of training in a structured educational program consisting of both didactic training and supervised on the job training in radiation physics, instrumentation, radiation protection, chemistry, math and radiation biology. This is usually divided into two sections: 200 hours of formal course work and 500 hours of supervised experience. For current pharmacists, the requirements are the same plus a preceptor statement of training from an Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist.

+ Ability to demonstrate courteous and dependable service to others

+ Ability to communicate effectively with patients and doctors when taking prescription orders, identify potential problems with orders to circumvent possible misadministration, drug interactions, etc.

+ Ability to work as part of a team.

+ Ability to effectively relate written and verbal communications and documentation procedures

+ Demonstrate a commitment to the professional ethics adopted by the pharmacy profession

+ Bachelor's degree in pharmacy required; PharmD preferred

+ 0-4 years related pharmacy experience

+ Ability to become licensed pharmacist in Illinois

Education and/or Other Requirements

Essential Functions and Job Duties

+ Demonstrates working knowledge of radiopharmaceutical compounding and dispensing procedures

+ Routinely practices basic radiation safety principles in accordance with company policy

+ Compounds and dispenses all prescriptions including specialty and complex orders

+ Independently directs delivery routing

+ Performs scheduled inventory count and reconciles in computer systems

+ Independently uses all instrumentation required for nuclear pharmacy operations

+ Participates in quarterly testing and calibration of instruments

+ Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces

+ Proactively develops and maintains broad knowledge of the technical disciplines in own functional area(s); applies broad knowledge of trends and best practices in a manner that ensures exceptional performance and results.

+ Ensures that customers have a positive experience; commits to meet or exceed customer expectations

+ Jointly develops practical implementation plans that consider cultural sensitivities with other accountable parties

+ Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of protocols, programs or deliverables; compares measurement results to standards and takes
