To strengthen our Neurology Patient Value Unit (PVU), we are looking to fill the position of Medical Science Partner (MSP) in the Mid-Atlantic to identify and foster purposeful partnerships with key scientific influencers to drive new sources of patient value. The MSP engages in balanced two-way scientific interactions and disease state/treatment algorithm discussions optimizing understanding of UCB therapies for the right patient segments. This position will cover the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. 

Key Activities:

  • Agile and proactive identification and management of key scientific and medical influencers based on local ecosystem dynamics and stakeholder needs and drivers (from push to pull)
  • Exploration and identification of new sources of patient value (innovative solutions and services)
  • Manage and generate product/ disease state data (IIS, audits, RWE etc.)
  • Support clinical studies, clinical development and share insights with R&D team
  • Serving as the leading local scientific expert for UCB solutions
  • Supporting market access colleagues when applicable in presentation of RWE/HEOR/clinical information to regional and local payer accounts and formularies

Key Deliverables:

  • Partners with key clinical stakeholders to advance medical initiatives, in defined strategic areas, to drive optimal patient care. Also, partner with other stakeholders like payers, patient organizations and patients might be relevant depending on the available resources within local organization. 
  • Provides scientific expertise and interpretation to strategic initiatives in collaboration with other local Partner roles
  • Shares insights, innovation opportunities and patient needs internally to the PVU and New Meds
  • Capitalizes on RWE and uses them to further reinforce the value that UCB solutions bring to patients.

Position Requirements:

  • Doctorate-level degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD) required
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Science Liaison or other related experience required
  • Relevant therapeutic and clinical experience preferred
  • HEOR and RWE experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts in 1:1 and group settings
  • Ability to actively listen and process information to identify opportunities including innovative solutions and services
  • Business acumen with a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare arena, and local ecosystem
  • Willing to take initiative on projects and able to identify what is necessary to complete tasks
  • Knows how to be a team player and willing to work collaboratively across local ecosystem team
