The Network Engineer is responsible for developing network designs for implementation by the network services team. This Engineer designs both new networks and alterations to existing networks. The Network Engineer provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.The Network Engineer will stay abreast of the industry standards for his/her field of specialization.   • Responsible for large-scale network designs utilizing architectural best practices that meet both Montefiore IT needs and industry standards.
  • Analyze business & application requirements and present architectural solutions for various Montefiore environments, both in a lead and complementary role.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of architectural reference documents which ensure consistent deployable network designs; referred to as General Design Specification document (GDS)
  • Manage relationships with the various internal technical and non-technical business groups to ensure solutions delivered are in alignment with business goals and requirements.
  • Provide network recommendations and improvements to the Senior Management team.
  • Adhere to specific project timelines by prioritizing client needs based on efficiency and immediacy of the project assigned.
  • Troubleshoot high-level problems as required and works closely with the support team to ensure high-quality customer support.
  • Work with and consult all project specific members and clients to guarantee that the project is continuing towards a successful completion according to the requirements.
  • Responsible for optimal Switch, Router, and Distribution configurations.
  • Participate in budgeting and procurement of necessary utilities for the project, ensuring that the designs can be deployed within budgetary parameters.

    • Strong working knowledge of: RIP,OSPF,BGP,MPLS,L3VPN,MVPN,VPLS
    • Strong working knowledge of WAN Communication technologies
    • In-Depth Technical Knowledge of Juniper and Cisco routing & switching
    • Technical Documentation skills
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
