Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is expanding and hiring a Network Administrator to become a member of our permanent team!  The Network Admin installs, configures, maintains, and supports network components and infrastructure according to IS&T standards and industry best practices. Part of a team that is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a scalable, highly available network architecture that meet business objectives and SLAs.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


  • No professional certifications required


  • Proven hands-on network engineering experience


  • CCNA or higher


  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Understanding of technical environments in order to create and document processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated well-developed organizational, written communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks without direct supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative, executive staff and clinical systems users


  1. Establishes networking environment by installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment and systems in according with defined standards or best practices.
  2. Maximizes network performance and availability by monitoring resource utilization, trending, and capacity.
  3. Collaborates with network and domain architects on network optimization.
  4. Troubleshoots network problems and outages; schedules and implements patches, upgrades, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  5. Secures network system by enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
  6. Serves as liaison with user departments and vendors to communicate, evaluate and implement new network technologies and systems.
  7. Manages and maintains network documentation, equipment inventories, and MDF/IDF standards.
  8. Participates in daily and out-of-hours on-call support for network operating needs.
  9. Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  10. Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architect(s) and senior network engineer(s) on network optimization.
  11. Report/monitor network operational status, performance availability, resource utilization, trending and capacity planning.
  12. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, WLAN, etc).
  13. Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  14. Mentor/train junior level engineer(s).


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
