YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, National Account Executive Veteran Affairs, are to: 

 

  • Develop and execute customer engagement account plan for National level Veteran Affairs (VA) customers and influencers;
  • Ensure national level non-disadvantaged access for Bayer products;
  • Identify profitable contracting opportunities/recommendations and negotiate national contracts;
  • Remove budgeting/procurement/purchasing barriers within the VA system;
  • Represent Bayer as a steward to U.S. Federal Health System at key events - expected to cover Congresses and national customer forums/meetings – i.e.: AVAHO;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, building compelling business cases, fostering a vision and gaining commitment for action against opportunities.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Ten plus (10)+ years related work experience in sales and/or account management in the pharmaceutical industry and/or related work experience within Federal Government VA/Customer Role;
  • Five plus (5)+ years of experience within a Government Customer (or like integrated system customer);
  • Three plus (3)+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership  position;
  • Experience executing market access strategies for Government Customers (or like integrated system customers) as well as contract development and negotiations for same;
  • Demonstrated ability to build profitable business cases, foster a vision and gain commitment from internal and external customers;
  • Strong Business planning/account planning skills, including use of business analytics to uncover actionable insights and drive activities, resource allocation and prioritization;
  • Requirement: 70% travel.

     

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • M.B.A. or M.S. Degree;
  • Five plus (5)+ years of Managed Markets experience;
  • Experience with all types of Federal Contracts: Federal Supply Schedule (FSS), Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA), Temporary Price Reduction (TPR), Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA).
