Scope of Position

Provide mechanical and process support for the MTE Laser Processing and Engineering team and labs.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Support strategic projects with laser processing of samples, data collection, documentation of process through SOPs, recommendations of process improvements, microscope imaging, ordering supplies, etc.

Assist laser scientists with laser alignment and data collection.

Support improvements to laboratory and/or process changes. Modify or create customer laser and optics benches for laser processing per needs of specific projects, implement laser processing of various materials (glasses, ceramics), gather and analyze data.

Travel Requirements:

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

·       40 hrs/wk, Monday-Friday

Required Education:

·       Working towards BS in Optical Physics, Physics, Material Science, Optical Engineering, Engineering Physics or related area
