Medication Reconciliation Pharmacy Technician - Full Time

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital

Lancaster, PA

As a full time, non-exempt CPS® Medication Reconciliation Pharmacy Technician you will provide technical support in obtaining, verifying for accuracy, and recording initial medication histories from patients and/or their designated family/caregivers upon presentation to Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital and patient care areas as well as perfoming pharmacy technician related tasks such as:

* Conducting patient and/or family interviews focused on obtaining current medication regimens including prescription and over-the-counter (non-prescription) medications, as well as vitamin and herbal supplements for dosing, frequency and indications.
* Clarifying uncertainties utilizing patient and family caregiver information, ambulatory pharmacy records, clinic records, long-term care facility records, and information from previous hospital encounters.
* Communicating any issues that cannot be addressed by the technician to the pharmacist and/or physician.
* Assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
* Preparing, delivering, and restocking medications;
* Performing order entry, procuring drugs, billing.

Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week, noon-8pm Monday through Friday with no weekend resposibilities.

About the Facility: Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital is a joint venture between Universal Health Services and Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine. The 128 bed facility will feature Lancaster County's only dedicated inpatient unit for adolescents, as well as a dedicated women's trauma unit, for sexual-assault victims or women with a history of traumatic injuries because of domestic violence. Slated to open in mid-2018, the hospital will also offer day-treatment services for adolescent, dual-diagnosis, older-adult, and substance-abuse patients. Pharmacy automation includes EPIC and Omnicell. CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.

About the Pharmacy: The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:00pm, Saturday/Sunday from 8:00am-12:00pm

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED
* Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
* PA Licensure/Registration/Certification requirements
* Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
* Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Hospital Requirements:

* (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
