GENERAL SUMMARY: Assists the clinical pharmacists in caring for patients by providing point of care services as assigned. Activities include assisting with patient's medication management and obtaining and organizing information such as patient demographics, medication histories and information needed for therapeutic drug monitoring. Promotes the safe and effective use of medications by providing the pharmacist with accurate and timely information necessary to make informed clinical recommendations. Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. Participates in performance improvement activities to increase the scope and quality of pharmacy services. Performs the duties of a pharmacy technician as required.
Minimum Education, Experience and Licensure:
* High school diploma, certificate or equivalent combination of work experience and education
* Two years of general hospital pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
* National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
* Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the District of Columbia is required.
