Territory: Great Lakes: (OH, MI, IN)

The MSL is a remote role focused on developing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with key medical experts. This role will primarily support the company's Malignant Hematology program. The MSL will collaborate with physicians and other medical experts to support trial enrollment, provide program and protocol training and ensure that health care professionals have the most up to date information as the clinical development programs mature.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* KOL Identification / Profiling / Strategy and Engagement
* Planning: Generate tactical regional plans to provide needs-based, value-added support of the medical and scientific community in-line with company goals by using systems to strategically map, identify, profile, and prioritize thought leaders in line with the medical plan and goals
* Internal Scientific Support: Serves as internal scientific expert by providing and communicating clinical insights on new data through support of training activities in addition to answering scientific / medical queries by the Key Account Managers (in collaboration with Medical Directors)
* Coordination of Scientific Education Activities: Plans and organizes scientific training and education events / sessions with KOLs within their assigned territory / therapeutic area
* Company - Sponsored Trials: Provides additional support, as requested, to assist local clinical operations personnel / Medical Directors with local / regional clinical trial activity
* Investigator-Sponsored Trials: Acts as local medical point of contact for ISTs within territory, shares IST strategy with PIs / clinical sites, collects IST concepts within territory, facilitates the interface between PI / clinical site and internal Company IST team which is responsible for approval, and communication of study progress and completion
* Exchange and Dissemination of Scientific and Research Information: Plans, prepares and engages with KOLs as an information scientist and colleague both proactively and reactively via various innovative KOL engagements tactics. Disseminates, clarifies, and educates on disease state, scientific data, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and professional literature. Participates in both proactive discussions on-label, and reactive discussions for unsolicited off-label questions in alignment with local regulations. Engagement initiatives could involve publications, advisory boards, speaker development / training and general medical education opportunities
* Participation in Congresses and Conventions: Utilizes congresses and conventions to network with KOLs, establish new contacts, gather competitive / scientific intelligence, and report back to internal stakeholders while maintaining full compliance with regulatory guidance
* Market Access Support: Provides assistance to Market Access by supporting clinical presentations to hospital formularies and reimbursement decisions makers, as requested
* Preparing Reports and Tracking Activities: Submits timely and accurate reports of field/event tracking activities against agreed objectives
* Other duties as assigned

Experience & Educational Background Education

Registration & Certification:

* Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or other medical related discipline.
* Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

* At least 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Science role and/or a minimum of 3 years of clinical or research experience in Oncology and/or Hematology, required
* Previous MSL or Pharmaceutical industry experience (e.g., Medical Information, Clinical Research), preferred (Required for a Sr. MSL or Principle MSL levels)
* Robust and current clinical development experience supporting drugs to treat rare diseases; prior malignant hematology (with a focus on Myelofibrosis) experience, preferred
* Candidates with well-established networks and active relationships with KOLs in the malignant hematology (with a focus on Myelofibrosis) community will be preferred.
* Candidate must have a clear understanding of OIG / PhRMA code compliance guidance with demonstrated ability to work in a highly regulated environment • Experience with presenting clinical data to HCPs and Payer audiences, preferred

Travel and Credentialing Requirements:

* This position requires a valid driver's license and an employee owned/leased vehicle to be used for business purposes.
* Travel within region up to 75%.
