PRIMARY PURPOSE The Medical Director will have significant clinical and administrative experience with a successful track record of peer-reviewed health research, or quality/performance improvement, preferably in a large health system serving diverse populations. This position will have Business Owner Responsibilities for projects which result in advanced analytic solutions applied to health care and related settings. Clinical leadership will be required to include, working with stakeholders to define and achieve objectives with specific focus on client satisfaction, create the solution through translating clinical requirements to data science teams and leading workflow adjustments that incorporate advanced analytics. This individual must also define track and achieve return on investment while working with PCCI leadership to assure alignment with vision, mission and strategy. Thought leadership is an expectation through submissions of project learnings and successes to local, regional and national bodies.


MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education: - Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine - Must have advanced degree or training in Business, Healthcare Administration, Operations Research or Quality Improvement. - Advanced degree in business, public health, quantitative sciences preferred. - Experience in the mental health/behavioral services field preferred. Experience: - Minimum of two (2) years in a qualified clinical residency program. - Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a hospital or clinic setting working with physicians and staff involved in patient care. - Must have experience applying scientific approaches to solve significant clinical or operational issues. - Must have experience preparing scientific publications and grant applications, including summarizing and interpreting complex clinical data, and successfully guiding through peer-review. - Consulting experience preferred. - CMO, CQO, associate CMO or CQO experience highly preferred.


Equivalent Education and/or Experience: - May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.


Certification/Registration/Licensure: - None.


Skills or Special Abilities: - Must be recognized by peers as an outstanding clinician. - Must have a strong interest and significant experience in hospital and health systems quality improvement and safety. - Must have deep working knowledge of hospital and health systems organization and operations, administrative standards, regulations and practices. - Must be able to work effectively with other health care professionals. - Must have strong analytic skills; knowledge of advanced data programming language and statistical analysis software (R, STATA, SPSS, or SAS statistical software) is preferred. - Must have strong organizational skills; knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and tools is preferred. - Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, have a high level of attention to detail, and have the ability to manage multiple projects at once. - Must be a quick learner with demonstrated problem-solving skills. - Must have excellent communication skills, especially the ability to clearly convey complex concepts and information to peers and lay audiences. - Experience running small to large multi-disciplinary clinical and non-clinical teams preferred.
