JOB SUMMARY & FUNCTIONS: The purpose of this position is:Independently assembles copper, coaxial, and cable harness components and builds precise electro-mechanical component boxes based on Bill of Material (BOM) and customer drawings/ specifications. Troubleshoots nonconformance assemblies.This position includes significant duties such as: •Assembles cables and electro-mechanical component boxes using customer drawings, BOM, schematics, and proper tools for installation in component boxes.•Uses soldering machine and soldering techniques on various wires and connectors.•Uses pinning and stripping machines, make all types of connections, and distinguishes sleeving and tubing types and braid requirements.•Uses all tooling needed to secure part in place on cable assemblies and component boxes.•Knowledge and care for precision tooling such as torque tools.•Works with engineers to improve designs for the accuracy of BOM and drawing (NPI).•Performs inline inspection of wiring and various electrical components.•Ensures job traveler has all required signatures, and pulls test labels and any supporting documents prior to job advancing to next operation.•Trains other Mechanical Assemblers to perform assembly on designated projects or jobs assigned by Mechanical Assembly Lead.•Knowledge and application of ESD customer requirements. •Packages final product upon completion for shipment and/or receipt into inventory.Working Conditions:Very good working conditions. Works in a standing or sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Proper PPE required in designated areas.Education: High School Diploma or GED required.Experience: 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training required.
