Manager District Sales- Crop Science 




The primary responsibilities of this role, Manager, District Sales, are to: 


  • Develop District Plan in alignment with the Marketing strategy;
  • Through, clear direction, effective coaching, prioritization of resources and
  • targeted development, lead, coach and mentor sales representatives to meet District Sales and Consumption expectations;
  • Maximize sales impact (ROI) of expenses, discretionary dollars and program payments;
  • Ensure achievement of program execution and program fulfillment;
  • Meet all reporting requirements on forecasting; and provide marketplace intelligence and customer insights.
  • Manage district complaints per Bayer CropScience policy and process through effective problem solving, execution, administration and resource management;
  • Develop strong relationships with key channel partners in the district; Travel approximately 60%;




Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus prior sales experience (8+ years) in the agriculture industry;
  • Thorough understanding of the various aspects and problems of the agricultural chemical industry and related products;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of practices in seed, seed treatment, pesticide, herbicide and fungicide usage;
  • Prior sales management or a history of clear leadership;
  • Excellent organizational, follow up and analytical skills are necessary, as this role will transfer knowledge of market trends and product opportunities into actionable plans among the district, but also to product management teams in headquarters;
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment;
  • Extensive interpersonal, communication skills (oral and written) and management skills are critical to prepare and present business and marketing plans, coach the sales force, and interact with all levels of management in both field sales, the division, and outside businesses;
  • Good driving record with valid driver’s license;
  • Strong Business Acumen, planning, and critical thinking skills;
  • Advanced computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes).


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences or agri-business or Master’s degree in Business;
  • Prior success in a marketing role in agricultural, agri-business, or other specialty Ag markets.
