Position Summary

The Foundation seeks an organized, and detail- and deadline- oriented individual to manage its Raiser’s Edge Database, RE NXT. This position is responsible for the overall health of the database and the effective use of information contained there. The Foundation team, which serves St. Anthony Health Foundation, St. Anthony North Health Foundation and Summit Medical Center Health Foundation, is developing a grateful patient giving program and needs a self-starter to join its proactive Advancement team (8+ members). The position reports to and works closely with the Director of Development.

The Database Manager plays a key role in working with Foundation staff who are responsible for major gifts; annual giving; events; and stewardship. In addition, the Database Manager is responsible for the processing of contributions and is the point of contact for the Centura Health’s Finance Department for the reconciliation of all contributions. The Database Manager provides training to members of the Foundation team on the use and best practices of RE NXT. The Database Manager will also provide tactical solutions for implementation of tasks related to the database.

  • 5 years of experience in Raiser’s Edge, including advanced user ability of query writing, data extraction, custom report writing, importing, and generating exports

Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )

  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the full functionality of the Raiser’s Edge database.*

  • Develop and produce user-friendly reports and automated tracking tools to increase staff efficiency and meet fundraising goals. Produce customized queries, data pulls, mailing lists and reports for communications and weekly reports for development analytics.*

  • Understand, plan for, and address the data needs of Development Department while crafting innovative solutions to maximize short and long-term net revenue.*

  • Ensure donor and constituent management needs are met from a data perspective to maximize fundraising and other constituent-related activities.*

  • Oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, and automated processes to ensure the efficient flow of data, smooth integration between and among systems, and the confidentiality and security of constituent information.*

  • Ensure timely and good data hygiene and streamlined use of database tools.*

  • Coordinate archiving of essential database and business practice documentation.*

  • Make case-by case updates and identify global changes to maintain accuracy, cleanliness and consistency in fundraising database.*

  • Ensure accurate coding and entry of all contributions, online gifts, pledges, and in-kind donations.*

  • Work with staff to ensure timely and accurate donation acknowledgment.*

  • Assist Finance Department data needs in conjunction with monthly reconciliation, quarterly reports, and annual audit.*

  • Serve as “lead” user and in-house donor database trainer.*

  • Updates, adds, and maintains constituent information on database records.*

  • Identifies researches and analyzes new and existing donors and prospects for major, corporate, foundation, annual and planned gift cultivation.*

  • Analyzes and disseminates daily patient screening results.*

  • Participates in the evaluation of new products, services or processes related to prospect research and database management.*

  • Help to inform data-driven campaign decisions by providing a suite of reports such as prospect pipeline, pledge and gift analysis, proposal tracking, gift tables, and campaign summaries.*

  • Creating and generating various financial and dashboard reports for the department, as well as other staff.*

  • Generating various mailing lists for the development department and other staff.*

  • Provide expertise and technical support to end-users on Raiser's Edge issues; identify, research, and resolve technical problems, and work with outside vendors/technical support as needed.*

  • Apply creative thinking and strategic planning to all database processes and policy decisions.*

  • Coordinate with Annual Giving Manager to manage direct mail campaigns, including quarterly acquisition, monthly renewal, lapsed reinstatement and additional gift mailings.*

  • Work with Catholic Health Initiatives database team to improve reporting process, data clean-up and streamline efficiencies.
