Position Summary

The Foundation seeks an organized, and detail- and deadline- oriented individual to manage its Raiser’s Edge Database, RE NXT. This position is responsible for the overall health of the database and the effective use of information contained there. The Foundation team, which serves St. Anthony Health Foundation, St. Anthony North Health Foundation and Summit Medical Center Health Foundation, is developing a grateful patient giving program and needs a self-starter to join its proactive Advancement team (8+ members). The position reports to and works closely with the Director of Development.

The Database Manager plays a key role in working with Foundation staff who are responsible for major gifts; annual giving; events; and stewardship. In addition, the Database Manager is responsible for the processing of contributions and is the point of contact for the Centura Health’s Finance Department for the reconciliation of all contributions. The Database Manager provides training to members of the Foundation team on the use and best practices of RE NXT. The Database Manager will also provide tactical solutions for implementation of tasks related to the database.

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in Raiser’s Edge, including advanced user ability of query writing, data extraction, custom report writing, importing, and generating exports

In addition, the ideal candidate:

Is truly the most organized person. This person LOVES handling details, and has a near obsession with creating and managing systems (and nudging others to use them). He or she is the person who color-codes their calendar, and keeps spreadsheets to project-manager their vacations (and can still have fun!)

Is a motivator to others. This person has excelled in roles that require complex project management and influencing a wide range of people to get things done, without any formal authority-because his or her approach is so engaging and clear in identifying how everyone can win by helping out.

Gets excited about understanding the details of things that seem boring to others. He or she enjoys reading through lots of material to understand how things work, to develop a strategy and plan for how to support all those moving parts.

A few other qualities we are looking for include:

A rock. When everyone else is losing their cool, they are at their best. NOTHING fazes him or her.

A leader. Skilled at working with a wide range of people and navigating complex dynamics and partnerships.
