Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the launch of our closed-door Central Fill Pharmacy and direct and oversee ongoing day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. Responsible for ensuring that pharmacy technology is maximized to meet and exceed budgetary and operational goals and benchmarks. Accountable for all Central Fill associates including their scheduling, training, and development. Ensures timely, accurate, and appropriate fulfillment of prescriptions to meet delivery timelines and customer expectations. Works closely with Specialty Pharmacy and Call Center team to ensure timely service is provided to our local stores and patients to meet their need. Required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

* Assists in the implementation, standup, and launch of our closed-door Central Fill Pharmacy.
* Directs all day-to-day activities associated with the successful operation of the Central Fill Pharmacy to ensure the technology is effectively used to meet prescription volume goals and delivery timelines.
* Works to achieve all budgetary and operational goals assigned to the Central Fill Pharmacy.
* Oversees the operation of the automated pharmacy dispensing equipment and systems as well as other pharmacy technology to ensure its proper use while maximizing efficiency, return on investment and life span.
* Responsible for associate relation functions including hiring, terminating, performance management, development and training.
* Oversees scheduling of all Central Fill Pharmacy staff to ensure payroll and productivity budget guidelines are met.
* Responsible for timely, accurate, and appropriate dispensing of all prescriptions by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, applicable to all relevant state and federal pharmacy regulations.
* Utilizes all available reporting pertaining to the Central Fill Pharmacy to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and output.
* Responsible for reporting any quality assurance events and for regularly performing QA reviews to identify opportunities to improve patient and associate safety.
* Collaborates with Specialty Pharmacy and Call Center teams to integrate and maximize the full scope of centralized services offered to customers.
* Maintains collaborative business relationships with extended pharmacy and store operations, Information Technology, Distribution, Transportation, and Store Development teams.
* Oversees proper inventory process and management including, but not limited to, automation inventory replenishment, inventory on hand levels, inventory turns, replenishment, outdates, and recalls.
* Assists with the establishment of operational policies and ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures.
* Develops, maintains, and executes strategies to influence and engage associates that enhance operational processes.
* Prioritizes Central Fill Pharmacy tasks and follow-through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
* Ensures prescriptions are safely and accurately delivered through various distribution and delivery channels.
* Ensures proper procedures are followed to maintain product safety and integrity while in transit to local stores or direct to patient.
* Directs relations and communications with various external vendors, auditors, and outside agencies, as needed.
* Assists in maintaining accurate counts on all Controlled Substances.
* Maintains appropriate security of the Central Fill Pharmacy and ensures all loss prevention policies are followed by all associates.
* Assists with overseeing the maintenance of the Central Fill Pharmacy to ensure a clean and professional environment that protects customer and associate safety.
* Facilitates and assists local retail pharmacy locations with questions, concerns, and needs related to Central Fill Pharmacy operations when needed.
* Ensures appropriate and timely customer service is always exhibited by all associates.
* Maintains awareness of developments in the profession of pharmacy that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice.
* Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations.

Job Qualifications

Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy, and at least two (2) years' experience in a high prescription volume community or mail order pharmacy practice environment is preferred.
