This position will report directly to the System 340B Program Sponsor and will be responsible for assisting with department development and managing operations, strategic planning, and objectives consistent with the organization’s goals and metrics for pharmacy and 340B. The 340B Pharmacy Manager is responsible for managing the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of contracted 340B programs, policies, and procedures to maximize gross profit and sales, supporting 340B activities, and expanding healthcare services.

340B Program Manager will serve as the project manager for audits and compliance in the 340B program for Centura Health Hospitals along with establishing a relationship and acting as an expert reference for affiliates. This role is responsible for monitoring changes in government program requirements and designing changes to the 340B program in Centura as necessary along with the education and development of 340B stakeholders at Centura.


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field preferred


  • 3 years experience in analytical inventory or operations

  • 3 years experience in 340B

  • 2 years hospital pharmacy experience as a pharmacy technician or similar experience preferred

  • 2 years of project management experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and drug nomenclature

  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word


  • Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) preferred

  • Advanced 340B education certification preferred



  • Lead team efforts in data gathering for interpretation and formulating conclusions for the current state of the 340B program and recommendations for improvements in the future state

  • Lead team efforts in developing solutions tHIo difficult or complex situations in the hospitals, respectively, and develop a project plan to measure project progress and benefits provided to the hospital

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, enhancement, and support of all 340B activities from the corporate level

  • Identifies opportunities and coordinates the expansion of the 340B program utilization across the system including contract pharmacies and other potential service areas that may qualify under the 340B program

Program Integrity

  • Assists in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods, and tools to support the integrity of the 340B program for the hospital system, including the review of current and prospective vendors for tools, technology, and design that will best service the compliance of the 340B program

  • Supports and assures compliance of 340B programs in conjunction with the hospital procurement team, 340B Coordinators, and Directors/Managers of Pharmacy

  • Collaborates with hospital Pharmacy Directors/Managers and Authorizing Officials to prepare all system facilities for annual HRSA recertification

  • Responsible for understanding auto split billing software and interfacing with vendor regarding problems, enhancements and system 340B software training

  • Monitors utilization records and purchasing accounts to ensure that the billing extract data and split billing software are working appropriately

  • Build and nurture positive working relationships with internal working counterparts (IT, Billing Office, Accounting, etc.) as well as external working counterparts (340B Health, 340B PVP, HRSA, etc.) to facilitate productive exchanges of information

  • Develop standard operating procedures that ensure appropriate ordering, auditing, compliance, and consistency across all 340B hospitals including applicable affiliates of Centura

  • Provide ongoing and periodic audits of contract pharmacies to validate compliance with the 340B program regulations, while assuring program optimization

  • Provide ongoing and periodic audits of split billing software and medical record to verify patients received care from a qualified provider in an outpatient setting and is being replenished accordingly

Training and Education

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders affected by 340B Program

  • Responsible for effectively leading, developing, implementing and maintaining a level of training and understanding of the 340B program in all stakeholders for each hospital by providing supervision, guidance, coaching and training

  • Actively and effectively serves as the primary contact and liaison for multiple departments, both at corporate and the hospital site, and provides timely and efficient follow-up, problem resolution and communication to all stakeholders, both within Centura and Centura affiliates

  • Serves as the 340B subject matter expert including recertification, compliance, policies and procedures, operational issues and split billing software

  • Participate in staff education to increase awareness of and compliance with topics pertaining to pharmacy and the 340B program

  • Attends national 340B conferences and monitors 340B Health, Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA), and 340B PVP newsletters and websites to keep current on the latest developments regarding the 340B program
