Manager, Global Consumer Excellence 




The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Consumer Excellence Manager, are to:


  • Manage all market research activities initiated in the Whippany Global Consumer Business Unit relating to the cough/cold portfolio as well as providing professional consultation to Global Brand Teams and countries on key projects;
  • Focus on the expansion of existing business as well as the need for innovations;
  • Have a significant and direct impact on the division's ability to successfully meet its volume and profit goals;
  • Satisfy and influence the information needs of key markets and brands;
  • Capitalize on learning synergies across countries and brands, realize cost savings and assist in strengthening the overall Consumer Health management of its portfolio of brands;
  • Lead/consult on information gathering/analysis efforts by working closely with numerous internal departments, Ad Agencies, and outside research vendors;
  • Strengthen the cross country communication and knowledge sharing among the Bayer Consumer Health (BCH) research community and beyond by appropriately involving colleagues and peers this steepen the learning curve especially in countries with no/few MR support.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Psychology or Marketing/Marketing Research;
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in Consumer Research with the following specific experience:
    • Minimum three years of hands on primary research experience;
    • Solid expertise in managing complex research programs;
    • Strong knowledge of Research design.
  • Proven track record of convincing Management to act upon key research learnings;
  • Fast starter and able to manage multiple projects at a time;
  • Must be highly analytical, possess strong interpersonal skills including influencing and teamwork skills;
  • Sensitive to different cultures;
  • Must have solid written and oral communication skills;
  • Clarity in thinking and communication.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.B.A.;
  • Multilingual;
  • Experience in OTC market research, Marketing/Marketing Excellence experience, experience/familiarity with syndicated sales data (IRI, AC Nielsen/IMS);
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in Consumer Research with Consumer package goods (FMCG) experience.
