Process Improvement is an enterprise support department.  Position is based in Roanoke, but project work may involve any Carilion facility.   Work involves the application of advanced knowledge and excellent communication skills in order to implement solutions to complex problems across multiple disciplines and sites.  Judgment, accuracy, and ingenuity are required for successful outcomes.  Work involves all levels of management and employees as well as outside vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required.  Master’s degree preferred.  Strong preference for industrial/systems engineering, health science/management, business, organizational change, or similar education with a strong component around process analysis and improvement.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a process improvement function. Experience should include leading quality/process improvement projects, preferably in a complex organizational environment.  Experience needs to reflect applied knowledge of Lean improvement skills. Experience as a Lean or Kaizen Consultant/Facilitator/Coordinator preferred.  Experience in healthcare setting preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Green Belt and Lean Certifications required.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate process change, flexible solutions to problems and organizational learning. Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational ability, and initiative.  Ability to lead and produce positive outcomes in a changing, unstructured work environment.  Proven ability to understand and apply various analytical tools. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office software and able to learn other software as needed.  Must be able to work with minimal amount of supervision.  Ability to travel to necessary off-site work location required.
