The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Lead a team of solution architects for platform services, focused on the infrastructure needs of the organization. Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Operations to support the overall service lifecycle.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Team leadership and technical mentoring
  • Create roadmaps that align with business needs and technology evolution
  • Review and approve high level (HLD) designs
  • Create technical standards
  • Govern managed service provider implementation of standard solutions
  • Research future industry trends.
  • Provide direction to lower level staff using established concepts, principles and techniques.
  • Develop and administers budgets, schedules and performance standards.
  • Exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
  • Frequent contacts with equivalent level managers and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications.
  • Conduct briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.


  • BS in Computer Science /Systems Management/IT Related field or equivalent work experience Required Skills Infrastructure Architecture experience, including on premise, cloud, and hybrid
  • Knowledge and Experience of the following domains, expert level in multiple: Microsoft Windows servers RedHat Linux servers VMware vSphere solutions WAN/LAN/Wireless/Security Disaster Recovery / Service Continuity Microsoft Active Directory SAN Storage environment, understanding of SAN technology (HBAs, Fiber channel, LUNs)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in a global IT model with outsourced operations
