Medication Security Analyst
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager – Automation Group with matrix reporting to the Site Directors of Pharmacy at NYP/CU and NYP/WC, this position is responsible for conducting surveillance of controlled substances activity to detect diversion as well as investigating discrepancies and other inexplicable variances from expected inventory. Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining databases, dashboards, and reporting analytics tools for monitoring controlled substances activity and developing reports and audits for other users to identify and resolve questionable utilization. Prepare reports and present findings to the Enterprise Leadership Team.
Preferred Criteria:
Information Technology experience with databases required to prepare reports.
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CRhT) by PTCB
- 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician or related experience
- Knowledge of automated dispensing machine (i.e. Omnicell, Pyxis, or similiar), computerized provider order entry (POE) systems, medication management systems (e.g. Epic Willow, SunQuest, WorkflowRx, or similar), and electronic medication administration record software (e.g. eMAR or similar)
