A Day in the Life
Medtronic is looking for a Facilities Manager with extensive experience leading commercial offices, innovation center, and manufacturing facilities. Acting on this role, you will provide hands-on and strategic oversight of building infrastructure, utilities, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and critical manufacturing systems. You will also lead capital projects, facility modifications, and space optimization, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, managing operating and capital budgets, vendor performance, and service contracts.
This role is essential to guarantee regulatory compliance across maintenance, labor, safety, and building standards for all our facilities in Brazil. It has an on-site working model, and it might be necessary to travel to our manufacturing sites in Ribeirão Preto and São Sebastião do Paraíso, as well as being present in our office in São Paulo / SP.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Manage the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.
- Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment purchase / replacement (equipment lifecycle management), labor, materials and other related costs.
- Design and develop organizational policies relevant to the facilities department
- Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication and facilities services.
- Responsible for establishing and collaborating in activities within health and safety standards.
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related fields.
- Advanced intermediate / fluent English and Spanish.
- Valid driver’s license (B).
- Deep knowledge of BAS (Business Automation System), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and maintenance operations to drive reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Local expertise and Portuguese proficiency are mandatory for timely filings, contract execution, vendor alignment, and adherence to construction and site standards.
