A Day in the Life

To help ensure our patients safety and health, we closely monitor and report on our products’ performance. The Patient & Technical Services department in Heerlen is responsible for addressing clinical/technical product inquiries for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The Patient Service Representative is the central contact point for patients that have product technical and application related questions. Furthermore, the Patient Services Representative can assist healthcare professionals and Medtronic representatives with their technical questions. For this position, we expect you to be a medical technical professional with a passion for helping our Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health patients, who have an implanted neurostimulator or drug pump. Our team also supports internal and external customers with troubleshooting and technical questions on device functionality. In this position you will be trained to have an in depth understanding of product features, electromagnetic interference (EMI), alerts, and much more. You should be customer focused and have excellent communication skills to explain complicated technical issues to patients, health care professionals, and Medtronic representatives. Furthermore, you should use your communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams to improve and expand our services and processes. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Provide world class technical support to our patients and customers
- Serve as a liaison between patients and our technical and marketing partners
- Have in-depth knowledge of all relevant products
- Perform technical activities requiring considerable judgement and have ownership of projects
- Responsible for ensuring all documentation/system entries are fully complete
- Connect easily with the stakeholders and is customer focused
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Excellent communication skills via phone and e-mail in English, German, and Dutch
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that are balanced with speed and effectiveness
- Highly organized with the ability to be flexible, multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments
- Be able to contribute to/lead projects supporting the expansion of services in the future
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy and a respected team player with strong interpersonal skills, who’s able to establish relationships with colleagues in other countries and departments.
Experience with working in a medical technical environment, in a technical support contact center and experience with analysing technical issues and processes for continuous improvement are considered advantages for this role. Besides this, proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Service NowI are a plus.
