As a Product Development Program Manager, you will be a member of the Operations team working within the Acute Care & Monitoring business unit. In this role, you will collaborate with other global cross-functional Core Team members and be responsible for the successful planning, coordination, management, and completion of all deliverables required to effectively execute on key project commitments and drive strategic alignment across for the business.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Drives the execution and implementation of project deliverables, establishes operating mechanisms, and assures alignment with MDT and Operating Unit leaders in support of strategic business objectives.
Manages timelines and Gantt charts to ensure program deliverables are met from initiation through delivery and escalates risks and issues for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, Operating Unit leaders, and key stakeholders.
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress, reviews status of projects and budgets, prepares status reports, and communicates with stakeholders to maintain alignment through the course of the project.
Applies and demonstrates strong leadership that results in a collaborative culture using clear, credible, objective, and proactive communications and stakeholder management, including communication with executive leadership.
Utilizes effective, standard project management tools and techniques to independently execute on project deliverables. This includes managing scope, schedule, risk and budget.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT CAREER STREAM: Program Managers and Directors focus on tactical, operational activities for a major program with broad or ongoing impact. Levels within the program management career stream typically accomplish program objectives through matrixed employee teams and / or vendors who are not direct reports but for which the incumbent has direct accountability to lead. The majority of time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility, managing program/team performance, communicating project and operational developments, planning, prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of program team members. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of program team members.
DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS
Autonomy: Manages one or more small-scale, developed or mature programs with well-defined program plans and delivery methodologies. Is accountable for overall program process, performance, and customer satisfaction.
Organizational Impact: Provides input to establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets. Recommends new policies and procedures that affect program management. May have budget accountability for one or more programs. Program decisions are generally made only after consultation with higher level management.
Innovation and Complexity: Problems faced are difficult, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems typically impact multiple workstreams, departments or specialties. Modifies programs management processes to improve program.
Communication and Influence: Communicates and leads meetings with internal and external customers and vendors, conducts briefings to higher level management team. Solves issues through information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties on program execution plans.
Leadership and Talent Management: Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team of professionals and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Direct involvement in daily tasks necessary for successful program execution. Not directly responsible for hire or fire decisions and people management.
Must Have: (Minimum Requirements)
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of project/direct management experience or Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years of project/direct management experience
- 4+ years of experience in project management or new product delivery in a regulated industry (e.g. medical, automotive, aerospace, etc.)
- High degree of competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Proven track record of successfully managing within a matrixed organization
Nice to Have:
- 10+ years of experience in Project Management experience
- MBA and PMP / CSM Certification preferred
- Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework methodologies
- Knowledge in product development, project management in the medical device industry
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; must possess excellent relationship building skills with direct reports, peers, and senior leaders
- Must be able to lead cross-functional discussions; driving towards alignment, decisions, resolutions when necessary
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once while understanding cultural differences between various regions of the world
- Experience with advanced scheduling and resource management tools like Prochain and Resource First
- Experience working under regulations of the FDA, notified bodies, and other regulatory agencies

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,000.00 - $204,000.00Pay range / Rango salarial / Intervalo salarial /Fascia retributiva / Tranche de salaire / Gehaltsband / Salaribereik: Ireland: 83,760.00 EUR - 125,640.00 EUR | This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
