A Day in the Life

This position is remote to enhance our competitive edge and expand our cross-functional collaboration efforts. This role will require up to 25% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
The Network Engineer is responsible for contributing to the development of network design and solutions to support development of cutting-edge products used in the medical field. Specific tasks include:
Designing, developing, testing, and documenting network systems and system components.
Assisting in requirements gathering, estimating, and planning efforts.
Completing Information Security Agreements and related questionnaires from customers
Interfacing with software development, systems engineering and test engineers.
Participating in on-going professional development activities.
Following Medtronic product development standards and practices.
Willingness and ability to assume increased responsibility.
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.
Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.
All other duties as assigned.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of relevant experience with an Advanced degree
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
• Cloud based storage and connectivity knowledge and expertise
• Experience with implementation of VPN server and client endpoints
• Experience with the implementation of network services (DNS and LDAP at a minimum)
• Experience interfacing with software development, systems engineering, and test engineers
• Strong knowledge of network routing and VLAN configuration and administration
• Oral and written communication and collaboration skills
• Ability and willingness to travel with little or same day notice
• Working knowledge of Privacy Regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR
• Working knowledge of global security and vulnerability guidelines and regulation (FDA and ISO)
• Experience in a medical service-provider environment
• Current or previous experience in Hospital IT
• Experience in integrating heterogeneous network and VPN products
• Experience in Active Directory administration
• Experience dealing directly with business customers
• Interest in Data Enabled Therapies
• Understanding of IPSEC, SSL, LDAP, and DNS protocol suites
• Experience in automation of data center provisioning and administration
• Working knowledge of system administration on major development and deployment platforms: GNU/Linux, Windows, Mac OSX, Cloud
• Working knowledge of one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, C++
• Competent with scripting languages: Shell (Bash), Python, Perl
• Working knowledge of distributed version control systems, e.g. git

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$96,000.00 - $144,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
