A Day in the Life
As part of Medtronic’s Global Finance organization, the treasury team drives the company’s capital structure strategy, funding, liquidity, and financial risk management. We execute across global debt and equity markets, manage cash and liquidity worldwide, and partner with leading banks, credit rating agencies, and internal stakeholders to support Medtronic’s financial strength and strategic objectives.

The Principal Treasury Analyst is a highly visible role responsible for day-to-day execution of core capital markets and liquidity activities, while also providing strategic analysis, building advanced analytical models, and delivering executive-ready presentations to treasury leadership and executive management. This individual will directly manage Medtronic’s commercial paper program, support bond issuance and liability management, optimize global cash and liquidity, lead the company’s net investment hedging program, and execute shareholder return strategies such as dividends and share repurchases.
The role requires strong analytical acumen, expertise in complex financial modeling, the ability to create clear, compelling presentations, a strong operational mindset, and effective relationship-building capabilities.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Capital Structure & Funding
Direct the commercial paper program, acting as the primary short-term debt issuer and managing relationships with a network of top global banks.
Run the share repurchase program and contribute to dividend policy, overseeing execution of both structured and open-market buybacks.
Lead the Net Investment Hedging program, executing foreign currency forward contracts, collar structures, and cross-currency swaps.
Support bond issuance, refinancing, and liability management strategies, ensuring covenant compliance, accurate documentation, and regulatory alignment.
Oversee the revolving credit facility, including bank group composition, compliance, and strategic alignment of relationship banks with current and future needs.
Forecasting and Modeling
Lead FP&A partnership on interest income and expense planning, driving the annual operating plan, multi-quarter forecasts (7- and 10-quarter outlooks), strategic cycles, and monthly forecast updates.
Enhance analytical models, document forecast assumptions, and maintain supporting files - ensuring transparency, accuracy, and ease of use.
Investigate and implement process improvements, introducing new methodologies, automation, and modeling techniques to elevate accuracy and efficiency.
Serve as the enterprise capital structure modeler, designing and running scenario analyses on debt leverage, dividend policy, share repurchase plan, and bond refinancing initiatives providing forward-looking insights that help guide decision-making in dynamic market conditions.
Relationship Management
Partner with treasury leadership to manage the global banking network, assessing enterprise needs and aligning them with banks best positioned to deliver. Support negotiations and drive initiatives that span all treasury teams.
Collaborate with the treasury team on the annual assessment of banking partners by compiling performance data (quantitative and qualitative) and providing structured feedback to maximize value from these relationships.
Support credit rating agency interactions, including preparing materials and analysis for semiannual and periodic reviews.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
Support Finance’s holistic digital transformation by supporting treasury workstream-leader in assessing current processes and technology, identifying pain points and recommending new solutions and technologies such as AI, RPA, and automation tools.
Drive enhancements to treasury’s reporting and forecasting processes by conceptualizing, building, and implementing data-driven solutions and advanced modeling approaches.
Modeling, Analysis & Leadership
Develop and maintain complex financial models to support financing, interest income/expense, liability management, net investment hedging, capital allocation, and capital structure strategies.
Monitor global financial markets and distill insights into actionable recommendations for treasury leadership and executive leaders. Perform refinancing analysis, monitor yield curves and credit spreads, and provide liability management recommendations.
Prepare and deliver polished, high-impact PowerPoint presentations for treasury leadership, CFO, FP&A, investor relations, external reporting, tax, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
Promote continuous improvement, standardization of templates, and process documentation.
Provide leadership, coaching, and support to junior treasury team members.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of finance, treasury, or accounting experience (or advanced degree with 5+ years of finance, treasury, or accounting experience).
Nice to Have
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple high-impact priorities with attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics; MBA, CPA, or CFA designation.
Knowledge of capital markets, corporate finance, and global liquidity management.
Experience with Medtronic technology platforms (SAP, OneStream, Ion Reval, FIS).
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build relationships and influence stakeholders.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$111,200.00 - $166,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
