This newly created Senior Contract Paralegal role supports the Diabetes MiniMed business as it prepares for its announced separation from Medtronic. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional with expertise in procurement contracts to contribute to the strategic direction of a business undergoing a transformative period. This position will report to the Assistant General Counsel - Operations.

Medtronic Diabetes is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Paralegal to join our Legal team, with a focus on procurement contracts. The successful candidate will provide high-level paralegal support to the procurement and supply chain functions, managing complex contracts and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
MUST HAVE:
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements (A) and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
NICE TO HAVE:
- Contract Management:Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of indirect and direct procurement-related agreements, includingIT agreements, software licenses, supplier agreements, purchase agreements, service contracts, consulting agreements,research and development agreementsand non-disclosure agreements, ensuring alignment with Medtronic’s business objectives and compliance standards
- Contract Lifecycle Support: Manage the full contract lifecycle, including preparation, execution, tracking, and renewal/termination of procurement contracts, while maintaining accurate records in contract management systems
- Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Medtronic policies, identifying and mitigating potential legal and business risks in collaboration with legal counsel
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with procurement, supply chain, finance, and other internal teams to facilitate contract negotiations, resolve issues, and streamline processes
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement standardized templates, playbooks, and processes to enhance efficiency in contract drafting, review, and approval workflows
- Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research related to procurement regulations, vendor compliance, and industry standards to support contract development and negotiations
- Training and Guidance: Provide guidance to internal teams on contract policies and best practices,and assist in training junior paralegals or staff on procurement contract processes
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate contract records, generate reports on contract status and performance metrics, and ensure timely execution and filing of agreements
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex
procurement contracts - In-depth knowledge of contract law, procurement regulations,
and compliance requirements - Proficiency with contract management systems (e.g., Ariba,
Sharepoint and Onit) - Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time-manage
ment skills. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a
fast-paced environment - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate
with internal and external stakeholders

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$127,200.00 - $190,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
