A Day in the Life
The NPD Training and Development Program Manager is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs to support the development and performance of Core Team Leaders and cross-functional Core Team Members. This role ensures that team members are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to excel in their roles and contribute to the success of Medtronic's SH&A product pipeline.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Training Program Development:
•Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and leadership to design and develop comprehensive training materials and programs tailored to the needs of the Product Development team.
•Create engaging and effective training content, including presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and hands-on workshops.
•Ensure training materials are up-to-date and aligned with Medtronic's standards, policies, and industry regulations.
•Identify, evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs when applicable.
Training Delivery:
•Facilitate onboarding sessions for new team members to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
•Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for team members at all levels, focusing on technical skills, processes, and best practices.
•Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship as needed to address individual learning needs.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
•Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics.
•Identify gaps in skills or knowledge and implement strategies to address them.
•Continuously improve training programs based on participant feedback and evolving team needs.
•Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques.
Collaboration and Communication:
•Partner with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Regulatory, and R&D, to ensure alignment on training objectives.
•Communicate regularly with team leads and managers to identify training needs and priorities.
•Identifies and supports best practices for information sharing across teams and team members, such as site builders or newsletters
Compliance and Documentation:
•Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and certifications.
•Ensure all training activities comply with Medtronic’s quality and regulatory standards.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements- To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Life Sciences, Education, or Business).
- 7+ years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, OR advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.
Nice to Have:
- 7+ years of experience in product development, training, or a related field.
- Experience in the medical device industry or a regulated environment is preferred.
- Broad management knowledge to understand needs of the NPD project team members as it relates to the business goals.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in creating training materials using tools like PowerPoint or other e-learning software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Knowledge of Medtronic’s product development processes and systems.
- Certification in training or instructional design (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
- PMP Certification
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc. Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$170,400 - $255,600The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
