The Principal Training & Education Specialist role will be responsible in ensuring the field force gains procedural product and clinical confidence in selling the peripheral vascular product portfolio and is viewed as THE expert and resource to internal customers.
Success factors of best-in-class training are through strategic thinking and strong cross functional partnerships, expectation setting, and continuous improvements of programs. This role reports to the Training & Education Manager for the Peripheral Vascular Health business.
Position Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this role will be to support global training and education programs with a focus on the peripheral vascular portion/Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) of the vascular portfolio while leveraging strong partnerships with Marketing, Field Sales Trainers, Sales Enablement, Sales Leadership, and other key cross functional partners to plan, develop, implement, and execute on global training planned deliverables. Primary role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a clinical & technical expert in support of global programming
- Support facilitating virtual and in-person training programming as clinical technical trainer
- In partnership with sales enablement team, train new hires to effectively sell peripheral vascular portfolio
- Work with the team to develop/enhance training and education programs, materials, and course content by utilizing clinical expertise to add value to content development and execution
- Training sales representatives and clinical specialists to ensure successful procedural support to physicians who are using Medtronic products
- Collaborate with physician faculty and cross-functional groups (Engineering, Product Marketing, Sales, Services, Legal, Quality and Regulatory) to create training programs, curricula, course materials and measurements that support operating unit strategies and are compliant with Regulatory, Quality Systems and Business Conduct Standards
- Partner with broader Global Sales Training Team on various workstreams to identify and leverage synergies across training teams
- Demonstrate training effectiveness through systematic program evaluation and continuous improvement strategy
- Develop self to become the subject matter expert in Peripheral Vascular/PAD products and procedures
- Provide timely evaluation and feedback to trainees and their managers/supervisors
- Identify and implement cutting edge online, in-person and virtual training & education through implementation of new learning platforms and tools
- Collaborate and build rapport with leadership independent of direct manager and to define and drive key training initiatives
- Support field-based education efforts, including but not limited to evaluation of sales rep/clinical specialist knowledge in the field
The responsibilities also include development, facilitation and leading of training programs. Presentations to small and large audiences will be a large part of this role. The role will require excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a budget.

Basic Qualifications:
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME
- High School degree and 11+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, healthcare industry or equivalent experience. 3 years PAD experience.

- Associate degree and 9+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, healthcare industry or equivalent experience. 2 years PAD experience.

- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, healthcare industry or equivalent experience. 2 year PAD experience.
Preferred:
- Peripheral Vascular and/or Endovenous case coverage
- Sales Experience in the Peripheral Arterial Disease space
- Technical or RN certification related to Peripheral Vascular and/or Endovenous (ie, RTR, RCIS, RVT, CVRN)
- Clinical imaging experience
- 2+ years in Medtronic field-based role (ex. Clinical Specialist/sales representative)
- Experience presenting information to large and small audiences
- Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint
- Prior content development experience, including various e-learning formats
- Product launch experience
- Product commercialization experience
- Marketing experience within the medical device space
- Program and project management experience
- Global training or sales experience

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$109,600.00 - $164,400.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
