A Day in the Life
In this exciting role as a Senior Program Manager, Medical Affairs you will have responsibility for developing administrative and clinical relationships with the largest US customers to support the Enterprise Accounts & Strategic Channels Commercial Organization by identifying specific strategies that leverage the breadth of Medtronic’s portfolio while delivering unique value to meet shared needs. This role will be accountable for cross-functional teamwork across the Operating Units and Functions, understanding the value of Medtronic products and services, and assessing and pursuing clinical collaboration and growth opportunities with US enterprise accounts on behalf of Medtronic.
A Day in the Life (Responsibilities)
Relationships
Identify key stakeholders and develop and retain relationships with internal and external customers including the Enterprise Accounts organization (Senior Managing Directors and Directors of Enterprise Accounts), and US Health System C-Suite executives and service-line leaders (i.e. CEO, CFO, CMO, Medical Directors, etc.) to build organizational partnerships.
Work with identified enterprise customers to maximize the relationship with Medtronic and increase collaboration opportunities with a specific focus on improving patient access and outcomes. As appropriate, formalize partnerships through innovative models.
Develop and maintain close relationships with Enterprise Account and OU teams including sales management, marketing, R&D, legal, clinical research and other teams to devise and execute business plan strategies.
Partner with U.S. Enterprise Accounts and OU HEPR teams to articulate the economic value propositions provided by the Medtronic portfolio.
Strategy
Recognize customer needs and develop collaborations that will lead to improved patient access, outcomes and cost savings by leveraging the unique clinical and economic value propositions provided by the Medtronic portfolio.
Co-develop strategic business plans that span Medtronic businesses, identify relevant clinical opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and establish a clear action plan for success based on unique customer needs.
Understand and address the needs of the different US Health System C-Suite executives and clinical leaders to tailor an approach and value proposition.
Work with the US Enterprise Accounts and Strategic Channels organization to address customer long-term strategic imperatives and provide internal feedback on potential new solutions. Ensure that the activities and progress are communicated internally.
Partner with Enterprise Accounts organization to pursue a thorough account planning process to align commercial and relevant OU teams on specific account level strategies, objectives, and timelines.
Communication
Provide subject matter expertise to the Enterprise Accounts organization and OUs on changing health care dynamics and the clinical opportunities with enterprise-level customer.
Proactively share best practices with internal stakeholders.
Novel Strategies and Creativity
Advise on development of strategy and execution of partnership initiatives that leverage multiple businesses within enterprise level accounts.
Identify opportunities to leverage Medtronic’s capabilities to help customers optimize access and clinical and economic outcomes.
Lead and advise on the development of innovative ideas to support Medtronic strategies and coordinate activities to address clinical opportunities and challenges.
Identify innovative models to formalize partnerships
*Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, as needed
Minimum Requirements
Nice to Have
Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
High performer in current and previous roles
MD, RN, PA, MBA or clinical licensure or designation
Knowledge and experience in medical science, clinical research, healthcare economics and reimbursement, and strategy development
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to collaborate and influence in a healthcare administration environment with a wide variety of cross functional stakeholders
High degree of flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment
Knowledge about the healthcare industry, providers, GPOs, IDNs, ASCs, and payors
Proven problem-solving skills, uses logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$168,800.00 - $253,200.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
