A Day in the Life

We are currently looking for a Technical Consultant who will be working in co-operation with the Diabetes Territory Manager to achieve regional business objectives and financial targets. You will provide technical support across sales territory to accelerate the safe uptake of Medtronic insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring devices.
You will cover the whole South Wales territory therefore you must live in the area and be comfortable with regular traveling across the region.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Support the Diabetes Territory Manager to enable account independence and sales growth via a structured support and educational programme
- Increase and deliver product and disease technical knowledge at a high standard to health care professionals (HCP’s) and patients
- Co –support the HCP’s at training sessions for patients who are starting on Medtronic Systems
- Support relevant local and national educational courses
- Develop and support patient retention initiatives (ie. Trouble shooting workshops, post training support) as the business model requires
- Compliance with sales administration requirements which include upkeep of an accurate CRM database and logging of daily activities
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and patients
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Highly motivated, focused and have the ability to self-manage
- Ability to communicate within a matrix management structure
- Flexibility to travel and to stay away from home as necessary
- Ability to act in a timely order to achieve set objectives of the role both clinically and business related
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, excel, word, power point, outlook
- Full driving license
We would appreciate if you have some healthcare professional qualification, previous commercial selling experience and knowledge of Type 1 Diabetes disease state.
