Novo Nordisk is currently building a new diabetes API plant in Clayton, NC next to our existing facility that employs 800 people. The new plant will initially employ 700 employees to produce the active ingredients for a new diabetes oral treatment and a range of other diabetes drugs.

Position Purpose:
Provide operational support as part of a cross-functional IT Infrastructure team as well as assist in the maintenance & administration of automated control & IT systems during DAPI-US project & its future operations. Responsible for the configuration, installation & working condition of the automation equipment control systems & computer Information systems throughout the facility.


* Help design & build a new facility with cable management, security & administration.
* Cable install, repair & replacements.
* Hands-on with hardware & software including Server Room & Patch Room build outs.
* Inventory control of patch cables, video cables, peripherals & other IT items.
* Inspect, troubleshoot & repair mechanical, electrical and/or electronic equipment including computer hardware.
* Assist in the development of maintenance procedures, preventative, routine & predictive work instructions, training & troubleshooting manuals, validation documents, protocols & corrective / preventative actions.
* Participate in equipment installations & relocations as per different project/initiatives.
* Provides superior customer service
* Interacts with equipment & service vendors for troubleshooting, installation, improving reliability and/or efficiency purposes.
* Initiates purchase order for parts, test tools, equipment, etc. to maintain an adequate inventory.
* Follows safe working practices while performing assigned duties. Identifies reports & may recommend corrective action for any unsafe conditions to a supervisor, or department manager. Adheres to safety procedures including, but not limited to wearing product specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, safety glasses, lock out, confine space & other company policies & procedures.
* Follows all cGMPs & ensures that product is manufactured according to procedure & current Good Manufacturing Practices.
* Maintains training readiness.
* Other accountabilities as assigned.

AA/AS/AAS in Computer Information Systems/mechanical/electronics or equivalent experience. MANDATORY
BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of IT/Automation or mechanical experience. PREFERRED

Technical/Process/Functional Knowledge: DESIRED
•2+ years of experience with ERP/MES Computer Information Systems such as SAP, Syncade.
•2+ years of maintenance experience in support of production operations is required.
•Experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Food, Cosmetic, Beverage or relevant work is preferred.
•Employee must be flexible to work overtime and/or different shifts as business needs dictate.
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of Computerized Calibration Management System a plus.

•Familiar with project management methodology.
•Excellent organizational & planning skills.
•Excellent problem solving skills.

Physical & Other Requirements:

* Ability to work in & around an active construction site during project phase.
* Must be able to frequently lift &/or move up to 50 pounds.
* Commitment to work hours necessary to support continuous operations.
