The Account Manager position is part of the IT Client Services organization within Global Human Health IT. The incumbent will be a member of the Vaccines IT account management team. Vaccines customer business line is one of the key projected growth areas of Merck. The IT Vaccines CBL team is accountable to collaborate with the global vaccine CBL organization to identify and deliver the technology innovations they require to differentiate Merck/MSD in the marketplace. We seek a dedicated Senior Specialist for the GHH IT CBL Vaccine IT organization.


Resource will:

  • Be a trusted IT partner to our global vaccines business teams:
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand, shape, and surface emerging social demand.
  • Learn & understand our social media landscape and help identify, evaluate, and select/recommend solutions in line with ESMG and IT platform standards.
  • Help educate /onboard markets on our social media capabilities and experience

Participate on delivery of funded projects :

  • Act as a liaison between various IT teams and business partners to drive results and communicate opportunities/issues.
  • Work closely with our Enterprise Social Media group, hubs and platform leads in strategizing, developing/ expanding our data footprint and So Me capabilities
    based on emerging social trends.
  • Develop Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) artifacts.
  • Develop and own underlying business process maps and their technology touchpoints.
  • Improve the flow of knowledge to, from, and within Vaccines IT and our stakeholders by promoting GHH initiatives and applications helping ensure their adoption (Change Management).
  • Grow into IT Account Manager


  • Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field preferred.


  • Minimum of (3) three years of experience in IT
  • Self-motivated team player to coordinate demand across platforms, tools, and capabilities and to promote global IT services aligned to our IT strategy.
  • Strong facilitation, meeting/workshop management, and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated applied strategic thinking/planning and business requirements management (planning, elicitation, documentation, and verification) skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with and influence a wide variety of stakeholders, from technical to senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity as a member of a global team.
  • Proven track record of working with vendors and agencies


  • A minimum of (3) three years work experience leading large, cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and innovation especially in relevant customer engagement technology.
  • Knowledge of digital asset tools and IT architecture.
  • Network leader - focus on influence rather than control, and creating a work environment based on trust, sharing and collaboration.
  • Experience in facilitating business workshops aligning people, process and technology.
  • Fluent in Merck SDLC including experience applying in regulated business areas and processes.
