Job Summary

  1. Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of and expertise in instructional design and development.
  2. Exhibits expert skills in numerous desktop applications.
  3. Demonstrates advanced expertise in project management
  4. Demonstrates advanced proficiency in creating and reviewing detailed work-related documentation.
  5. Evaluates training programs for adherence to best practices and CHOP training standards and procedures and recommends improvements.
  6. Works independently, educates and evaluates IS Trainers I & II, and communicates and collaborates with CHOP staff and leadership.

Job Responsibilities

An IS Trainer III is a senior contributor with similar responsibilities as the IS Trainer II, but with a greater degree of complexity.  An IS Trainer III may be involved in some leadership activities.  An IS Trainer III also:

  1. Works closely with Training Project Manager to establish and execute tasks, plans and processes.
  2. Works to promote training program awareness and integration across projects, departments and the organization.
  3. Mentors IS Trainers I & II and provides input regarding performance evaluations.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations


Required Education and Experience

  1. College degree required and/or equivalent work experience as a trainer experience in Healthcare or related field.
  2. 4 to 8 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering training.
  3. 3 to 7 years, IT, Healthcare or related experience in a training capacity preferred

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

  1. One or more professional certifications/fellowships, i.e. American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and/or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
  2. Other relevant Healthcare IS or IS system certification, i.e. Cerner, Lawson, SAP, Microsoft, etc.

Additional Technical Requirements

  1. Project and time management skills required.  Technical creativity and strong understanding of information technology in health care required.

  2. Presentations experience a must, with large and small groups.  Computer skills required:  Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.

  3. Certification based on position (Competent to work at a high technical level in phases of application development and build).
