JOB SUMMARY

The Intern program allows interns the opportunity to gain hands-on experience related to their field of study by working on meaningful projects alongside Children’s professionals.  Intern responsibilities may include project management, event planning and support, logistics, data base management, research and analysis.  Interns may explore career paths and apply for full-time positions upon successful completion of the program.

Mobile Clincian is a net new critical communication system used across the enterprise.  It enables mobility for the clinician while providing ongoing communication via voice and text, critical alarm and alerting real-time for patient care, and advanced patient safety technology enabling the device to be used for bedside barcode scanning.  This intern will perform a critical role in helping build and test new enhancements to the product to increase the patient care and patient safety functionality of this system.

EDUCATION

  • Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Clinical Engineering, Communications, Networking or other related field

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Assist with Voalte VAD and Room build and testing for EG and HS with target go-live of mid-Feb.   Deliverables:  Detailed documentation of workflow, procedures, and configuration.   Detailed testing documentation of all alarms, alerts, and rooms.   Outcome:   Successful go-live and productive use of all configuration.
  • Assist with ongoing optimization build.  Deliverables:  Successful documentation and completion of assigned tickets.   Outcome:   Testing and Production sign-off by senior member of team.
  • Assist with testing of auto provisioning tool.  Deliverable:  Document and demonstrate successful use of auto provisioning tool for all users and transitions.  Outcome:   Successful go-live of auto-provisioning tool for Voalte by end of internship.
  • Assist with developing complete regression and integrated testing scripts for all aspects of Mobile Clincian including Voalte, Connexal (middleware), Responder 5, and Epic Rover.  Deliverable:   Complete Test scripts for all workflows and functionality.  Outcome:   Successful sign-off by members of team.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
