JOB SUMMARY

The summer internship program provides current college/graduate students the opportunity to work on meaningful, project-based assignments in various non-clinical areas. Intern responsibilities may include project management, event planning/support, logistics, data base management, research and analysis. Students typically work full time during the summer program, which runs from mid May to early August.

 

 

Planning Design & Construction services consist of beautification / interior design, construction / renovation, move management, real estate and space planning. The Intern will provide administrative and management support to internal Design & Construction project management team members and other project stakeholders.

EDUCATION

  • Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Building Science/Construction, Civil/Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Assist Project Managers with tasks including change order management, meeting preparation and contract management
  • Attend project planning meetings, document meeting outcomes and action items
  • Input rent/lease information into the Co-Star system
  • Create system to organize departmental files
  • Assist Project Managers with floors plans (define space and occupancy status)
  • Communicate with in-house vendors
  • Work closely with other departments including Supply Chain and Engineering to ensure task completion
  • Manage internal workload schedule

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
