Intern, Bioprocess & Formulation Development Scientist 




The primary responsibilities of this role, Intern - Bioprocess and Formulation Development Scientist, are to:


  • Participate in the development of purification processes for recombinant proteins at lab scale and scale-up to pilot scale;
  • Participate in formulation development of vaccine emulsions and stability studies;
  • Establish and/or execute analytical methods for protein and vaccine formulation characterization;  
  • Participate in process optimization studies applying process chromatography;
  • Design experiments, write protocols, execute experiments and report data, in compliance with company standards.

Required Qualifications:


  • PhD or Postdoctoral scholar in biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmaceutics, chemical engineering or related areas, or;
  • B.S. in biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmaceutics, chemical engineering or related areas with exceptional credentials/experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in recombinant protein expression and purification;
  • Demonstrated experience in downstream purification of biological molecules: filtration, UF/DF, process chromatography, HPLC;
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical methods for protein biochemistry: spectrophotometry, particle sizing, ELISA, electrophoresis, blotting, protein quantification;
  • Demonstrated experience in formulation development for large molecules;
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of executing tasks independently in a laboratory setting, delivering results with high quality standards;
  • Detail oriented with ability to analyze scientific data accurately and reliably;
  • Good written and verbal data presentation skills and the ability to use software tools to produce high impact presentations of data;
  • Strong team skills. Ability to work with other employees in a positive and constructive way.
