This position performs the critical skill set of strategic leadership and planning, tactical leadership, system/process development, training and development, consultation and advisory role, and change leadership throughout the Medical Center. As a Level III Consultant, this role will primarily work on process analysis, time and cost studies, facility design, process simulation, process and quality improvement, financial and organizational planning and information system design.

 Assist with new and/or revised initiatives, processes, and projects in order to achieve the vision of Business Information Systems and Montefiore’s goal of an integrated delivery care system.


As in any industry, the industrial engineer or performance engineer can have a major impact on the success of the organization by providing value added results.

Education and Requirements:

Graduate Degree in Industrial or Systems Engineering with a focus on Management Engineering, Information Technology, and Operations Research.

Minimum of three to five years of experience as a management engineer in health care settings (preferably in the acute hospital setting.)

Experience in the use of simulation modeling required.

Ability to generate project plans to support implementation activities.

Ability to represent Montefiore Medical Center and the Health Systems Engineering Office in a professional manner.


SKILLS: Excellent knowledge and experience in the use of simulation modeling software.

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project.

Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with clinicians, administrative and front-line associates, vendors.

Excellent communication and written skills.
