Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position: The SC Analyst is an active team member tasked with implementing projects related to the Supply Chain process roadmap to increase effectiveness and productivity and support overall Supply Chain initiatives. This position assists the supply chain organization regarding process improvements, trouble shooting and problem solving through investigating problems, finding root causes, and developing solutions related to Supply Chain issues. The individual uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes. They are responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support SCM planning and operations. They support training needs within the organization and provide training on SC systems as required. They also assist with power user activities and may lead local power user groups. This role works with the Manufacturing Departments, Plant Staff, and IT to improve SAP processes and coordinates with Enterprise Business Solutions, Plant Manager and Regional Process Leads to develop the improvement enhancements and projects priority list.

Major Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Review, map, and analyze the SAP supply chain and manufacturing processes. Keep process maps up to date. Drive for global process standardization where ever possible. Seek out SAP best practices and drive adoption within the plant and throughout the global organization. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with the plant staff / key managers and Regional Process Leads to achieve the following: *Develop and implement approved business process changes to more effectively utilize the SAP platform *Develop and manage a prioritized list of system enhancements and improvement projects, including creation of business cases *Integrate plant priority list into global governance and report global priority to the plant staff. Global governance is managed by Enterprise Business Solutions 
  • Coordinate with IT on system solutions and testing and assist with troubleshooting and defining requirements and needs for resolution. 
  • Work with Manufacturing Power User Network to assess business needs and communicate system and process changes 
  • Respond to End User/Power User questions in a prompt and service oriented manner. 
  • Ensure business end users are using SAP wisely and effectively 
  • Build the level of knowledge and awareness of SAP capabilities 
  • Maintain and develop applicable policies, processes, and procedures 
  • Provide regular and accurate status reports to plant leadership 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and global SAP experts at other manufacturing locations. 
  • Balance demands between an immediate fix and a sustainable long term process.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred 

Required Years and Area of Experience: 1-3 years' experience in a Supply Chain role preferred
