Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position: Lead an award winning creative team, developing world class designs, realistic custom imagery, engaging multimedia, and innovative interactive experiences to support the marketing organizations objectives.

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Position will manage a cross-disciplinary team of 7 – 10 creatives 
  • Lead conceptual and brainstorming sessions 
  • Manage and participate in the creation of design, custom imagery, multimedia and interactive projects by the staff ensuring that timelines and budgets are met. 
  • Work with the Global Brand & Vendor Manager to balance collateral production between internal and external vendors. This includes assigning jobs and schedules based on service level agreements to ensure that the workload and skill set is balanced between the team members. 
  • Ensure that visual look and feel is consistent from creative concept through project completion 
  • Collaborate with copywriters to develop strategies for campaigns 
  • Research and introduce innovative technologies and techniques. 
  • Motivate the staff to deliver value added solutions to the projects of our customers and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction. 
  • Create processes and procedures for the staff that support the effective use of time, talent, and resources.

Skill Sets: 

  • Broad, general knowledge of the tools and techniques used to design and develop creative, multimedia, and interactive projects. 
  • Experience managing people in a creative environment 
  • Advanced experience in digital and print collateral design and production. 
  • Advanced experience in 3D modeling & animation techniques. Advanced knowledge of modeling, surfacing, texturing, lighting, animating and rendering. 
  • Advanced ability to realistically composite 2D imagery, 3D assets and video footage. 
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects. 
  • Experience implementing and managing creative and multimedia workflows and pipelines.
  • Experience with augmented and virtual reality technologies and solutions. 
  • Advanced experience with digital video cameras, video lighting, digital SLR cameras and professional photographic lighting. 
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills 
  • Ability to lead teams through complex projects 
  • Advanced problem-solving skills in design, multimedia and interactive techniques and workflows 
  • Ability to interface well with customers, coworkers and management through excellent interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent job experience 
  • 10+ years of related experience 
  • Portfolio required
