Position Summary



The Financial Analyst Lead is responsible for preparing financial data analysis using advanced report writing techniques including but not limited to information Power BI, SAP Business Objects, Crystal report writer, Excel advanced tables and features. Responsible for training other analysts on the financial systems, new system implementation, new release implementations, system data integrity and troubleshooting problems as they arise. This person will be capable of working directly with the CFOs or managers/directors requesting data.



Minimum Education Requirements




  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance



Minimum Experience Requirements




  • Four years experience in an analytical position.

  • Six years healthcare experience preferred.

  • Six years Business Analytics system experience.

  • Advanced software knowledge (2 years) either in Power BI, Access, Crystal, Excel or other business analytics software.

Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )




  • Financial system audits as needed for quality checks and standards.*

  • Revenue integrity and price analysis as needed.*

  • Prepares financial and cost analysis on new and existing programs, capital proformas, physician information and other profitability requests as needed by department managers and Sr. Leadership.*

  • Serves on Committees as needed representing finance.*

  • Manages new system implementations; system issue research and resolution.*

  • Business analytic system audits as needed.*

  • Demonstrates analytical skills, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making abilities as well as effective communication skills.*

  • Accurately collects and analyzes data in a timely manner.*

  • Utilizes knowledge and experience to discover and address financial issues or problems.*

  • Develops efficient methods of analysis and problem solving.*

  • Ability to develop sound resolutions to identified problems.*

  • Assists in preparation of annual operating budgets and insures that all aspects of the process are maintained in the budgeting system.*

  • Builds model budget in EPSI from historical and/or proforma data.*

  • Generates preliminary budgets by account and job class for distribution to all departments.*

  • Provides department directors and other management with assistance as needed in completing and understanding their budgets.*

  • Applies all revisions and assumptions to the account and job class budgets at the department and hospital level to achieve desired final budget results.*

  • Assures that new FY budget is accurate, complete and ready for upload into Lawson GL system after final approval.*

  • Trains other analysts as needed on the financial systems and processes.*

  • Trains other analysts as needed in the use of the Labor productivity reports, Benchmarking reports and budget software.*

  • Communicates in a clear and concise manner in a tone that is courteous and not confrontational.

  • May assist CFO with performance evaluation process.*

  • Demonstrates maturity in being self-directed and self-initiated.*

  • Initiates, designs and prioritizes workload in order to evaluate performance and outcomes, utilization of resources, financial impact and customer satisfaction.*

  • Uses time productively with little direct supervision. Adjusts personal schedule as necessary to accommodate fluctuations in workload.*

  • Follows up on post-meeting issues in a timely manner and ensures projects are worked through to completion.*

  • Provides ongoing monitoring information as identified by various customers.*

  • Ensures patient, employee and organization data security and confidentiality.*



Physical Requirements




  • Sedentary Work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert/lift up to 10 lbs. force occasionally
