This role is responsible for executing the insurance strategy for the corporate insurance function; including the management of insurance systems and processes.


  • Manages the processes necessary to identify, measure, and mitigate the company’s business, operational, and supply chain risks related.
  • Documents and presents the company’s risk profile
  • Identifies paths to reasonably mitigate risk,  
  • Directs the purchase of insurance to provide risk transfer
  • Supervises the work product of related 3rd party service providers, including; brokers, insurance companies, TPAs, claims adjusters, and actuaries
  • Engages and collaborates with other functions engaged in enterprise risk management, with the goal to continuously improve Corning’s management of enterprise risk
  • Manages the claims process for non-property related claims - Develops, tracks and files bordereau and other insurance management reports
  • Monitors compliance with insurance policies and procedures
  • Implements, maintains and manages related IT systems, processes and tools

Prior Experience:

  • Business/corporate staff experience (or experience in legal firm)
  • Understands internal business processes (budgeting, forecasting, allocations )
  • Seeks ways to define cost/benefit solutions for projects

  • 3+ years work experience
  • BA in business administration, economics - Advanced degree (MBA, JD) preferred
