JOB SUMMARY: The Finance Manager is responsible for all aspects of SEngine's Finances, including Patient Billing, Cash Forecasting, and Annual 409a Valuation.

The Finance Manager will report to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFO/CAO) and collaborate with a wide array of senior level department leaders. OVERALL:

You will help build and maintain SEngine's financial health and stability.

Specific responsibilities include financial modeling and reporting, budgeting, cash forecasting, capitalization table management, annual 409a valuation, and assuring accuracy of bookkeeping, patient billing and overall compliance to GAAP in company financials.

This position requires effective communication and collaborative partnership skills, the ability to be mentality focused on different projects, working with various functions of the organization, and the ability to manage multiple projects with specific and variable deliverables and tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with Finance Management within the biomedical/biotech/biopharma industry with particular emphasis to:
  • Execute detailed and accurate financial reporting and forecasting
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support company success and sustainable business practices
  • Serve as a financial liaison to cross-function departments with differing levels of finance experience
  • Contribute to compelling presentations for Board of Directors and investors
  • Troubleshooting financial processes company-wide
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Financial planning model management; budgeting and 5 year projections
  • Collaborate with contract accountant to ensure GAAP compliance of financial statements
  • Cash forecasting
  • Publish financials to C-suite and investors, as required
  • Ad hoc financial analysis (e.g. lease/buy), as necessary
  • Manage annual 409a valuation process
  • Enhance compliance/governance of Authority Matrix, prep for audited financials, update financial/accounting policies
  • Maintain capitalization table integrity (in concert with Business Operations and Administration)
  • Conduct compensation analysis (in concert with Senior Manager of Business Operations and Administration team)
  • Establish, audit and maintain Financial Controls (in concert with Senior Manager of Business Operations and Administration)
Education Qualifications: Master's in Accounting or Finance, CPA

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7+ years experience
  • Evidence of capability to work in fast paced early-stage company environment
  • Knowledge of biotech/biomedical/biopharma environment or similar a plus!
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and to address complex situations with solid business skills knowing when to elicit senior management input/help
  • Highly collaborative with outstanding communication and relationship management skills. Outstanding team player - works collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently with others
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and editing skills
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A 'can-do' attitude and resourceful approach to complex situations
  • Knowledge of Financial Industry best practices
  • Strong oral, written, and verbal skills in the English language are required
  • Strong organizational skills are required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, with demonstrated exceptional skills in Excel and Power Point
