Corning’s Glass Technologies segment manufactures chemically strengthened cover glass, such as Gorilla® Glass® for the consumer electronics market and glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.


Scope of Position: Provide administrative support to the Corning Glass Technologies Operations team leadership and department based in or traveling to the Corning Valley.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Calendar management for leadership team; assist with staff and department calendars as needed
  • Concur expense report processing for leadership team and staff as needed
  • Arrange domestic and international travel; process visas/passports; obtain/create invitation letters
  • Prepare typewritten material/presentations as required (Ex.: Staff Mtg./Dept. Mtg. agendas; compile Pd. Reports)
  • Filing; sort and deliver daily mail
  • Prepare interview agendas; new employee orientation materials; request IT services for phone/computer
  • Track department IP documentation (Patents, IDs, R-L Reports)
  • Create/control highly proprietary/restricted/confidential documentation
  • Coordinate customer visits
  • Coordinate office moves
  • Maintain department organization charts - monthly
  • Maintain contact lists (phone, dept./global)
  • Maintain assigned hallway bulletin board
  • Coordinate department events/activities (Staff & Dept. Mtgs., Summer Event, Holiday Event, Recognition, D.A.R.M., etc.)
  • Work closely with other administrative teams relevant to role
  • Maintain printers/copiers in service center area
  • Ability to create and maintain good interface relationships with people at all organizational levels
  • Work effectively as an individual, as well as a team player
  • Manage purchase orders (POs)
  • Provide administrative support to the Corning Glass Technologies human resources team with emphasis on processing personnel transactions and managing personnel data


Travel Requirements: Limited travel (less than 5%) within the Corning Valley

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 8:00-5:00 w/ flexibility


Required Education and Years of Experience:

  • 5+ years previous experience as an administrative aide within a complex organization


Required Skills:

  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Organizational skills; detail oriented; able to multitask and prioritize tasks; execute and follow-up
  • Demonstrated experience in solving both routine and unusual office problems
  • Knowledge of  phone system, conf. rm. setup for computer/teleconference/videoconference, Internet Explorer
  • Professional, flexible, courteous, excellent work ethic and a Team player


Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Corning internal systems (Space Planning, True Blue, Concur, Conference Rm. Scheduling, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Concur system and e-procurement platforms
  • Prior experience with and broad network within Corning Incorporated
