Description
A pharmacist is required to comply with state and federal laws regulated by
the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Agency, and Food and Drug
Administration. In doing so, a pharmacist must maintain records for controlled substances, remove outdated or damaged drugs from inventory, supervise the work results of support personnel, maintain a current registration, and stay up to date with current standard practices and laws.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Full Time:10:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
• Provides pharmacological information by answering requests of healthcare professionals and by monitoring drug therapy and advising on interventions
• Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections
• Ensures accuracy of entered orders and timely delivery of medications to the respective recipient
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with established hospital policies and procedures
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required
• Current State of Texas License as a Registered Pharmacist
• Certification in area of specialty (e.g., CACP, CNSC, BCNSP, BCOP, BCPS) preferred
