Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Position Objective:

Support global mold development engineering improvement projects related to equipment, manufacturing process governance, mold development, and information management systems.


Scope of Position:

1. Provide engineering assistance to project managers responsible for onboarding & qualifying new capital equipment

2. Assist project managers with information management systems related to global production molding operations

3. Support the mold engineering team focused on improvement projects, new product introduction, global process standardization, and production manufacturing excellence


Day to Day Responsibilities:

1. Collect experimental data and help on systems integration projects

2. Provide engineering support on new projects, capacity expansions, cost reductions, and process standardization. This includes conducting experiments, data collection, testing, drafting new processes & procedures, and assessing manufacturing issues for root cause analysis

Travel Requirements: Travel is not required for this position.


Required Education: Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Polymer Science

Required Skills

1. Advanced technical know-how with solid communication skills

2. Mechanical aptitude and ability to organize sequential tasks and logical thought patterns

3. Some knowledge of computer automated design packages such as Pro-e, Unigraphics, or SolidWorks

4. Ability to use Microsoft Office software: PowerPoint, excel, word, access


Desired Skills

1. Detailed knowledge of Pro-Engineer software and CAD drawings

2. Mechanical modeling software

3. Familiar with basic metallurgy

4. Experience on injection molding machines, working on molds or dies, or other mechanical aptitude
