Position Summary

Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) testing


Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Associates Degree preferred


Work Experience Requirements

  • Previous work experience providing direct patient care in outpatient or inpatient preferred

  • Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR), preferred



  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association

  •  Successful completion of EEG registry within 2 years of hire date


Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )

  • Applies electrodes in accordance with the ACNS guidelines.*

  • Performs prescribed testing.*

  • Reviews patient’s history and educates patient about procedure.*

  • Monitors and documents patient’s condition and responds to and reports and adverse reactions.*

  • Identifies and corrects for artifacts.*

  • Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.*

  • Scores/graphs, analyses, documents and reports results of diagnostic preocedures.*

  • On call requirement per department policy.*


Physical Requirements

Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
