Position Summary

This position is located in Frisco, Colorado. Drives, loads, and unloads mail, medical reports, radiology films, compact discs, supplies, equipment, lab specimens, pharmaceuticals, and other items between Centura Health facilities, affiliated locations, and nonaffiliated hospitals and clinics in a timely manner based on a scheduled route and unscheduled STAT calls. Must maintain company issued cell phone, follow set daily route, and respond to all STAT calls as assigned. Maintains all maintenance on vehicles, not limited to oil changes, tire rotations, service requirements, windshield replacement, etc. Maintains records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, sign off on cargo when delivered, invoices, etc. Provides records to Supervisor/Manager daily. Able to work independently with little or no supervision. Participates proactively as part of the Centura Logistics team in identifying and making suggestions to increase efficiencies, implement cost savings strategies, and improve services.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • 2 years driving experience preferred


  • Current CO Driver’s License (Colorado Only); Current KS Driver's License (Kansas Only)

  • CDL preferred

  • No more than 2 moving violations (prior to plea bargain, if any) or chargeable accidents in past 3 years

  • No major violations in the past 5 years: no DUI/DWI; disregarding or evading a police officer; driving with a suspended or revoked license due to driving record; failure to comply with implied consent lay (refusing breathalyzer); felony involving a motor vehicle; hit & run, eluding, or leaving scene of an accident; vehicular homicide or assault; manslaughter with or without gross negligence; possession of a controlled substance; reckless or careless driving, drag, or speed contest; or filing a false report

Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )

  • Professional appearance*

  • Loads vehicles with listed goods, ensuring goods are loaded correctly and taking precautions with hazardous goods*

  • Maintains and performs daily vehicle safety readiness and preventive maintenance log*

  • Performs routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, such as monitoring fluid levels, checking mirrors, lights, temperature  gauge, tires, turn signals, brakes, and replenishes fuel. Immediately reports any maintenance problems as appropriate*

  • Contacts dispatcher/Manager/Supervisor daily to confirm delivery of STAT, nonscheduled items*

  • Turn in daily receipts*

  • Records information, such as but not limited to signatures for items received and delivered and recipients' responses to messages*

  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness*

  • Independent worker that can troubleshoot problems as they arise*

  • Tracks lost items*

  • Obeys traffic laws*

  • Maintains time schedule to ensure consistent daily pick-up and delivery along assigned routes*

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned, such as but not limited to sorting and delivering mail*

  • Immediately reports any on-duty or off-duty accidents and/or traffic violations to management*

  • Coordinates courier routing with dispatch for the purpose of gaining information for courier request*

  • Provides courier service in accordance with departmental policy*

  • Maintains communication with appropriate staff via cellular phone/radio or pager*

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and maintain positive customer relations*

  • Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time*

  • Covers other employees’ scheduled routes as dictated by Manager/Supervisor/Dispatcher*

  • Maintains properly filled out delivery records throughout the day and turns in accordingly at the end of each shift*

  • Identifies the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others*

  • Attend workshops and/or participate in online training to remain aware of current trends, advancements, best practices in safe driving and the safe handling of heavy loads*

  • Reviews and tracks outside courier expenses for all Centura facilities*

  • Makes recommendations to Supervisor of Supply Chain Management Couriers on outside courier service needs*

Physical Requirements

  • Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
